ABOUT CHERYL SMITH “THE LOT LADY”

Cheryl Smith, also known as “The Lot Lady” has been the local expert on Palm Bay Real Estate since 1984. Cheryl has lived in Palm Bay since 1981 when her family moved to Palm Bay from Michigan. During her high school years, she worked closely with her father after school, who was a successful real estate broker, specializing in vacant land sales and new home construction in Palm Bay. This led to her lifelong career in real estate.

After graduation from Palm Bay High School in 1983, Cheryl assisted her Dad in his office until she obtained her real estate license in 1984 at the young age of 19 years old. In 1985, at age 21, she went on to become a real estate broker and worked with her father until 1987.  Although her father retired from real estate and later passed away, he left her with a valuable lifelong legacy she will forever be grateful for.

In 1987, at age 22, she opened Cheryl Smith Realty, Inc. in Palm Bay, where she specialized in the sale of Palm Bay Port Malabar lots. In 2006, Cheryl expanded her business to become a full service real estate firm with the addition of home sales, home rentals and property management as well as continuing with lot sales.

ABOUT ME…

I am originally from Michigan and while growing up, we spent many winters in Florida at our second home. My family eventually moved to Florida permanently when I was in high school and it did not take long to get used to the Florida lifestyle all year round! I have lived in the Palm Bay area since 1981 and I have served the Palm Bay Real Estate community since 1984. Over the years, I have seen our area grow and evolve into a beautiful community where I am proud to live and work! In fact, I not only watched it happen, I am grateful to have been a large part of that growth and development. I have sold thousands of Palm Bay Port Malabar lots and helped many people build their dream home on those lots. I have been there for the life transitions of so many people over the years and many of those people have become repeat customers and a wonderful source of referrals. In fact, much of my business is still based on those referrals today.

LOVES FAMILY

I have been happily married since 2007 to Paul Ciano. Paul and I love to travel, especially to the mountains of Waynesville/Maggie Valley NC and Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, Tennessee where we got married.  Through my marriage, I expanded my family to include 3 beautiful stepdaughters Tiana, Karissa and Cassidy. They have blessed us with 2 amazing grandsons Alan and Cayden plus 3 beautiful granddaughters A'mariana, Ava Leigh and Tru. Most recently we now also have our adorable little Xander. We love to spend time together cooking out, playing games, swimming in the pool, going fishing and boating. Whatever we do, there is always lots of laughter and fun!

LOVES DOGS

I have always been an animal lover and I finally gave in to my husband's wishes and got a dog. She is a Puggle, which is part beagle and part pug. We named her Georgi and she is a character! She forgets she is a dog! This photo was taken at Thanksgiving. The food was on the table and we walked into the dining room to see her sitting in the chair just like this, with that pitiful look on her face as if she had not eaten in days! She is a fun and loving addition to our family!  Stop by the office anytime and Georgi will be there to greet you as she goes to work with me everyday!

LOVES CARS

My parents and grandparents owned a car dealership for 43 years in Michigan. So growing up in a car dealership, it was only natural for me to grow up loving cars. We love to go to car shows to see all the restored classics. Finally, I decided it was time for me to find and restore the car of my dreams - a beautiful 1951 DeSoto Classic that I named "Cherry Bomb!"  There is nothing more fun than cranking up the oldies and cruising to the beach on a warm summer night or taking her to the mountains for a ride through the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway!

LOVES TRAVEL

We work hard, so in our spare time, we love to travel.  We go camping when we can mostly around Florida in our RV.  River Ranch is one of our favorites with the fun of the Saturday night rodeo!  When we have more time, we love to escape to the peace and quiet of the western North Carolina mountains in the Waynesville/Maggie Valley area where we built our dream vacation home in 2020.  Nothing is better than sitting on the porch looking at the mountains then after watching the sunset, building a nice fire and watching the fireflies flickering in the trees. We never miss the fall tree color in October! It is so beautiful.
